October 1st was Caylin's 1st birthday. So we went over for her party. Aunt Cami let all the kids decorate their own cupcakes. The goal was to make monster cupcakes. Aly was more interested in eating the candy then decorating with it.

October 9th our stake held a Country Festival. Their was a chili cook-off, entertainment, and all sorts of dancing. It was a lot of fun and they had a great turnout.

The very first project of MarKen PPE, Jill's new job, was to make Pink Turnout gear for the City of North Las Vegas. Every Oct. the Pink Ribbon Tour, a tour for Breast Cancer awareness, tours the nation with it's final stop being Las Vegas. North Las Vegas Fire Dept. hosts the events here in town. As part of the fundraiser there is a fashion show of Cancer Survivors. The Survivors are escorted by Firemen who will wear the Pink turnout gear that Becky, Jill, and Nikole made. After the show the gear gets auctioned off and the money is donated to Breast Cancer research. Joey and Mark (one of the owners of the company) were kind enought to try the gear on so that we could see if it needed any tweeking. What great sports. When Capt. Williams came to pick the gear up he started crying because of the flanel details that we put in the gear. It has been a very emotional project with ups and downs. We all know people who have been effected by breast cancer. We are greatful that the gear is done and even more greatful that we could be a part of such a wonderful cause. So, for all of you who live here in Vegas, watch the news at the end of the month and you will see our gear.
